Having returned from South Africa, I thought Id post a picture of when the Mzanzi Trio went to visit the legendary Amampondo in their home town of Langa (A township on the outskirts of Capetown). It was inspiring to see the close community in action and the happiness despite the poverty. Hopefully we will get to work with the Amampondo guys again soon.

This wednesday coming up (26th September) I am playing a gig with Tryfan Trio (A new band led by Paul Jones). We are playing new music which is crosses minimalism and electronica with a small hint of jazz- but really quite small so its very exciting.
The line up is Paul Jones on piano and electronics, myself on double bass and Mark O Connor on drums and samples.
A quick post to mention the gig at Cafe Jazz this week with myself, Greg Sterland and Mark O Connor. We will be exploring some material we recently recorded and trying to create some really interesting sounds. Trying a few bits out before we tour in october so It would be great to see some friendly faces there!
£6/5 starts at 9pm at Cafe Jazz on St. Marys Street, Cardiff
